Under this heading you will find a collection of my thoughts on ways that Christian educators can better engage classical mythology in order to inculcate wonder<\/em> in our students rather than what is sometimes called a “hermeneutic of suspicion” that leads to cynicism about the Western tradition itself. Such cynicism primes Christian students for being easy victims of the liberal academic deconstruction of the Western Tradition itself, and from there leaves them with nothing but fideistic defenses of Christianity rather than a really robustly classical<\/em> Christian orientation to the world. As Christian educators, we can and should<\/em> do better – but doing so requires a healthier approach to mythology than we often practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
