So says Proverbs 18:22, and in that light I have an even happier announcement to make than the one I made a couple of months ago:
I went to Nevada his past weekend to see Heidi, and while there I proposed. Scariest thing I’ve ever done in my life, but she said yes! This is so wonderful and unbelievable to me that I’ve been more than a little bit out of it for the last few days. Just ask the Latin students I tried to tutor this morning!
We’re planning a summer wedding so that we can get settled in before I get back into New St. Andrews this fall, but we don’t have any firm details yet. I’ve already begun to see a small glimmer of the tremendous preparations that are going to have to be done, so if I don’t do much of anything coherent on this blog or elsewhere on the internet for a while, you’ll know why. I’m already learning to be grateful for the second half of that verse: “…and obtains favor from the Lord.” “The Lord is good and his mercy endures forever.” Amen!
